To say that my experience at The Human Lab has been a life changing experience is an understatement. Little did I know what I was getting into when I participated in my first crossfit workout at the Helen challenge. My previous experience with gyms or workouts had been with globogyms. I would start off motivated but over time would lose interest mostly becoming bored with the routines. From day one since starting at The Human Lab, I have constantly been challenged. I realized that this was a life altering experience as my nutritional counseling was emphasized as much as my exercise routine. With the combination of these two elements, I have seen dramatic results. I have lost approximately forty pounds and have dropped six pant sizes. I haven’t felt this good in a long time. I am setting new personal bests in my strength training and am now participating in 5k races and ultimately hope to compete in a half marathon. My many thanks go to my life coaches JR, David, Denisse, and Javier for their constant encouragement and motivation.

I started over with The Human Laboratory Strength & Conditioning about five months ago after sustaining a minor shoulder injury and having lost most of my interest in fitness training. My fitness coach, scratch that, my LIFE COACH, David Kneip has impacted my life more in these past few months than most people have in my entire life. I've considered moving away from El Paso a few times and I will say one of the most powerful forces that keeps me from doing so is my Human Lab family. I have gotten comfortable with being uncomfortable (as any type of effective fitness regime should be) and I know that all of my coaches at The Lab have my best interest at heart. The Human Laboratory's primary intention is to make each and every person stronger, healthier and happier, month after month. This is evident after continuous personal records each student breaks on a weekly basis. Throughout my Lab journey, I've cried, I've laughed, I've thrown up, I've felt my strength develop, my waist-line decrease, my endurance last longer and I've started to acknowledge my body's need for continuous progress. I've noticed a more progressive approach towards healthier living in the City of El Paso and I credit the Human Lab for influencing a greater part of this movement...there is no other place I'd rather be!

My coaches genuinely care about the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of all their students. Their unparalleled level of professionalism, motivation, and dedication has only inspired me that much more to strive for success in all aspects of my life. Recently I competed in the first annual local Southwest Fitness Throwdown Qualifiers. I am proud to say that I obtained the highest score amongst the females, which could’ve never been accomplished without the foundation that the Human Laboratory has built. The training and programming at the Lab has both physically and mentally transformed me, reiterating my belief that obstacles were made to be overcome. The Human Laboratory is my home away from home and everyone is like an extended family. I will continue my fitness quest with an army whose heart and passion surpasses all. Remember our name and above all, endure anything. At the Lab, WE GO HARD!

I first heard of The Human Lab Strength & Conditioning from a member who was so excited about The Lab that I it made me want to go in and try the workouts. I had been working out for a couple of years with a trainer and had little to no improvement. As soon as I started at The Lab I found immediate improvement in the way I looked but mostly on how I felt. The coaches were able to help me start eating better and helped me adjust my eating habits so it would benefit my schedule. I work 12hr shifts and most days with my schedule being hectic I have a very hard time to find a proper work out time. But The Lab has a variety of classes in the day and night so my excuses not to work out have faded away. The most important thing that made me continue working out at The Lab is the support by each Coach. The coaches give an abudance of support and are extremely patient. Thank you David, Denisse, Jr, and Javi for the support and helping me reach my fitness goals.

The Human Lab isn't just a gym to me, it is more like one big "fit" family. When I became a member of the Human Lab back in October, I joined with vain intentions--to look really good as soon as possible. It is now March and I've continued to attend classes (a minimum of four times a week). The reason behind all of my motivation six months later? The phenomenal coaches! They have taught me that CrossFit is a LIFESTYLE not just a temporary diet and excercise regimen. My results have improved drastically since then. I went from a 29 to a 26 pant size, but those results were secondary. The Lab helped me kick the biggest habit of all, my 10 year battle with cigarettes; a challenge that seemed imposible to overcome. This seemed, of course, impossible until my life coaches David, Junior, Denisse and Javier showed a genuine concern for my life and my health. They have motivated me in all aspects of my life. They inspire me to surpass my everyday goals both in and out of the gym. I not only look better, but more importanly, I feel energetic and have never been more fit in my life. The Lab's coaches and students have become more than frequent names and faces, they have become family.

I want to thank the Human Lab's wonderful trainers for believing in me every day by encouraging and motivating me, and by telling me I can do it. I have tried different trainers from different GYMs, this place is the best place I have ever been to. Thanks for everything, As I continue my successful journey with you all!

I remember when I first started at the Lab, I could barely carry the bar with no weights. It has been an amazing training and seeing the leaps and bounds I have made with you. I have always felt confident, focused, resilient and composed...NOW it has a much superior meaning :) I am so very grateful for the positive life style changes I have made since joining the Lab. Every day I wake up stronger, physically and mentally, always ready for the new challenges in life- not including the prowler ;P haha joke!
Where do we get our strength to accomplish our goals? Consider the following passage from “Radical” by David Platt.
*Share your thoughts on Comments.
“Certainly hard work and high aspirations are not bad, and the freedom to pursue our goals is something we should celebrate. Scripture explicitly commends all these things. But underlying this [thought process] are a dangerous assumption that, if we are not cautious, we will unknowingly accept and a deadly goal that, if we are not careful, we will ultimately achieve.
The dangerous assumption we unknowingly accept…is that our greatest asset is our own ability. [It] prizes what people can accomplish when they believe in themselves and trust in themselves, and we are drawn toward such thinking. But the gospel has different priorities. The gospel beckons us to die to ourselves and to believe in God and to trust in his power. In the gospel, God confronts us with our utter inability to accomplish anything of value apart from him. This is what Jesus meant when he said, ‘I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.’”
